BBBAD 5.0 -> Now i have to upgrade!! JK but it is awesome.
Mike
I am in the process of making the switch right now. That pic has me totally pysched :)
If you guys are just swapping head units, you'll have to do a little 'clearance' job on the bracket, shown with the long blue line with the bracket, and the blue circle for the smog pump or eliminator below:

I switched complete kits. I have the head unit mounted up already. The only thing I had to clearance was the smog pump eliminator. I was trying to run it with Downs Ford Tall valve covers, but they interfered with the power pipe. I am going to re-install repainted stock valve covers tomorrow to fix that problem.
So the YS will not work with tall valve covers? That sucks.
Not without some serious work to either the valve cover or the elbow :(Quote:

Well that really sucks. I'm not sure stock valve cover will clear my stuff. Always something.
Man I want a YS-trim bad and I just put the S-trim on. What does a YS-trim head unit go for?
Just the head unit will cost you a lot. You might be able to find a deal on a used complete renegade YS kit (like I did), and then sell your old S trim as a kit. You'll find the price difference is worth the upgrade.
Just wanted to let all know that with the SN95 brackets on a 351 the YS went in with no clearancing. Was vey glad we didn't have to modify. Can't wait to get some numbers on the new combo. We upgraded from a T-trim. I'll post some pics soon. Oh yeah we are using the SN95 brakets on a foxbody so when you see the pics you'll know.Quote:

I see you have a modified bracket for a 351 engine. I had mine done by Lidio at Alternative. Sound like a good idea but does not work with the YS unless some serious mods are made. The YS uses a solid elbow that runs into the vavle cover. If you mount the bracket using the modified holes for the 351 you will not be able to use the elbow. I just use the standard holes in the bracket. So my blower sets up a lillte higher. If there is a better way please let me know.
Well, I haven't gotten to that point yet. In looking at it, it does seem like a potential problem. Setting the blower a little higher causes belt problems......espeically when running cogs (cha-ching).
