Another long weekend, 800 mile round trip the car performed faultlessly.
Previous belt issues I had seem to be solved with the addition of another idler. Never had to touch the car all weekend, aside from changing the rear tyres for racing..
First time at a proper strip with my 255/50x16 MT DR's, although I probably could have launched harder. But as I'm on a stock T56, and a 2 piece driveshaft, I wasnt going to try too hard.
First run on pump gas only, was a 10.52@145mph with a poor 1.97 60ft time.
After that I switched the meth on.
On the Saturday I ran a best of 10.07@148.06mph, with a 1.76 60ft.
Then my first run on Sunday netted me a 10.04@148.42mph with a 1.758 60ft.
Last run on the Sat could have been a 9, first few hundred feet were my best run, then I missed 4th gear and ended up with a 10.25 @ 141mph .
Im sure I could have got a 9, but the queues were far too long. There was around 90 minutes in between each run.
Best trap of the weekend was 149.36mph. When I swap to 3.27 gears, I think I'll easily see 150 http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/images...ch/gr_grin.gif
Just have to wait until next year for that though.
What air pressure you running? They seem to prefer about 14-15 psi!

Pressure will be dictated by how much air the engine can consume as you know!!! and how fast I can spin the damn thing lol
Its making around 19psi at 7000rpm. But around 16psi at 6000rpm. Im only holding to 7000rpm in 4th gear, due to gearing.
Power would peak a little over 6000rpm and I shift around 6300-6500rpm 1st to 3rd
I actually think I need a bigger blower...Im using a 8.5" crank, and 3.0" blower...so at 7000rpm, I am spinning the blower beyond its rated 65,000rpm.
Of course...If I had higher compression....then perhaps I could reduce the blower speed, and not need as much air, and be able to make more efficient use of the air available.
But when building, I played safe at 8.7:1 for use with regular pump fuel....even that costs a fortune here.
Race fuel doesnt interest me one bit...mostly down to cost.

Ohhhhhhhhhh
I set them that day at 14psi cold.
Didnt check thereafter, but dont think they would have tons of heat in them, as it wasnt a particulalry hot day, and queues in between runs were huge.
The tyres didnt move on the rims either.
When I was racing at an airfield at the end of July, I marked the tyres with some paint.
I ran them at about 11/12psi that day. Interestingly, the right side moved about 1.5" throughout the day, and the left side about 3"
By rights, the right side should hook better.
I though just seeing how much the tyre moved was cool though :D
