cogged blower on the street?

Hey guys, I have a quick question for ya. I remember reading an article from a mag from several years ago before I really got into cars, and I think I read something about how cogged setups arn't any good for the street? :confused: Something about how if you get some detonation with a regular 8-rib setup it will cause some slip in the pulley which can drop boost momentarily and maybe keep your engine from grenading? :confused: Can someone shed some light on their experiences with a cogged setup on the street? Thanks.
