hey guys, im new to this forum.. Im considering a novi 1000 for my next mod.. A friend was suppoed to hook me up with an S-trim for dirt cheap but he sold it on me so im looking for an entry level blower thats in my price range..
So my questions are what is the max boost these things can make? And what mods (pulleys, pipe) does it take to obtain these boost numbers?
With my current combo in sig, what kinda power would i be looking at with 6-7#'s of boost roughly?

A novi 1000 puts out 850 cfm. Check it out on the novi web site. I would guess you would have close to 400hp with what you have.
I would change your cam out with something a little bigger. Do you have a fuel pump, MSD, and a fuel pressure regulator? What injectors are you running? I dont know what the kit comes with but I would install these things with the blower. Check out the corral I saw a few novi 1000's for sale there.
A Novi 1k maxes out at 15 psi. For 15 psi, you'll need an ASP 8" crank pulley. Do a search for it because it has been discussed many many times and Chris (Goliath) wrote a very indepth thread on the installation.
Well remember that the old novi 1k is same serpentine drive, new is separate. The article that Chris{goliath} wrote refers to the old style, although you could buy an ASP pulley for the new one, but that article wouldn't be helpful for that. RUN ON SENTENCE.
I'm guessing that the revised Novi 1000 would not experience the trouble in regards to waterpump pulley clearance that Goliath went thru with the old style Novi 1000. The Asp pulley upgrade should be pretty simple & straightforward, as easy as swapping the stock pulley for an F-150 unit on the old 1k unit.
To achieve the 15#'s max boost you will have to upgade fuel pump, injectors.
To run the stock ~6#'s a bypass valve is an absolute must & is not included with the kit. Driveability w/o the valve is compromised.

well i have an adjustable fuel regulator, msd 6al, msd timing control, 24# injectors, 3.55 gears and a 190lph (forgot to put those in sig)...
I would plan to upgrade my injectors and fuel pump if needed.. Ive heard FMU's suck, so i would most likely plan on ditching it..
and about the b cam, i would not change it since of all the work involoved.. I like it alot anyways, it makes great midrange-high power...
what injectors would be ideal for the novi 1k?
I'll be running 42#'s with an 80mm Pro-M personally, I'm shooting for close to 500 RWHP if I can ever get a motor built.
I used to have a B-cam and when I put my old blower on that, it sounded unbelievable.
With 15#s you'd want 42 or 50lbs injectors (I'd go 50lbs.. they'll last longer in theory) depending on the motor you'll be running that on. A 80mm Pro-M would do nicely. Make sure the Pro-M is calibrated for the injector size and for Supercharged applications.
i don't agree with the supercharger calibration for the MAF. It usually makes it too rich on top, and tuners end up taking out some of it anyways. I run the 80mm Pro m for NA, and it works fine, believe me...
Just to add to what Neil indicated on the S/C calibration, I've heard that alot of tuners prefer you use the N/A cal. meters as they have an easier time getting the tune nailed down with them. As my luck would have it, I discovered this after I purchased a Pro-M 80 with the S/C calibration.
I used to run a 77mm Pro_M calibrated for 36lbs N/A, and when I went with 42lbs injector, I couldn't even drive the car down the road. So I used my remote optimizer to bring it to 42lbs injectors, but it was still set for N/A. Still stalled out at lights. Sent it to Pro-M and they set it up for S/C. Works great. No problems whatsoever now.
