What is the max impeller speed for the Novi 1000? I have heard 55,000 and 45,000....Paxton's web site don't say either.

Ian says 55,000.
I wonder where he got that number from, because I can't find it anywhere?
i cant remember where i heard it but i to heard 55k. i remember IAN's notation of this but ive heard this elsewhere as well.........

Ian asked Kelly for me.
It is infact 55,000 rpm.
Ok cool, thanks
Being too lazy to figure this out myself... What's the impeller speed of a single belt 1K with a 2.75 pulley and an F-150 crank? Any takers on that one?
Here ya go :D
8" Crank/2.75 @ 6200 RPM ~63849 Impellar Speed
7.5" @ 6200 ~ 59858
7" @ 6200 ~ 55867
6.5 Crank (F-150) @ 6200 ~ 51877
Crank Dia./Blower Dia. x RPM x Blower Ratio (3.54:1) = Impeller Speed
Groovy! You da man.
Just wondering what kind of boost could you expect to see with the 6.5" crank and 2.75" blower pulley?
That's kind of a trick question. Boost is dependant on restriction, altitude and temperature. Every engine and setup is going to be different. All mumbo-jumbo aside, I've heard 9-11 lbs with those pulleys. I'm hoping for 8-9 lbs on mine once spring comes and the snow goes. Not too worried about mine because I'm running 8.7:1 compression.
..man you're the real sh-sh-Shell Answer Man 5150! I guess I keep my F-150 pulley and go with a 2.7.Quote:

I surmise that the safest bet and the hottest ticket on a Novi 1000 is an F-150 with a 2.75.
I've got me a 2.75" blower pulley coming so time will tell :D
im at sea level at about 75 degrees and i saw 8.5-9 when i did a burnout near redline when i finally got it running. (wih the f 15- and 2/75 but cant get belt slip under control. not neccacarily from the 2/75 pulley! its more ont he alternator. paxtons tensioning device has got to be the most poorly designed pissa crap ever. i just cant get it tight, theres no clearance for a wrench!!!! the valvecovers brackets and blower housing are all int he way and the studs keep breaking. anyway, i dont have a powerpipe, so all u guys should expect maybe 9 pounds on a well breathing motor such as mine and maybe 11 on a stock motor
anybody know the size of the crank pully on a 97 cobra?
never mind I found it.
