Remote Oil Filter mount ?'s

I am working on getting my remote oil filter setup plumbed and mounted. The directions with the TD dual filter mount I have say just to run the inlet to the "in" and outlet from the "out". Does it make any difference if I use the inlet and outlet on one end of the filter or is it necessary to use the inlet on one end and outlet on the other? I have heard that you need to use the inlet on one end and outlet on the other, although I can't figure out why. It will simplify the plumbing if I can just use the one end of the filter mount. Thanks.
