Vortech Aftercooler and spark plug ??
Just had some questions for my fairly new combo. I know I need to change my spark plugs because they haven't been changed since the combo was put on about 2000 miles ago. First let me list the combo:
-Vortech V2 SQ (about 9-10 psi now)
-AFM powerpipe
-Aluminum Edelbrock Perf. RPM Heads 1.90 intake
-Gt-40 lower race assy. w/ Vortech Igloo Box Upper Intake (just unit minus center cooler)
-Vortech Aftercooler (w/ res. tank mounted in trunk spare tire well)
-70mm Accufab TB
-80mm Pro M
-MSD 6AL
-42lb injectors
-Vortech Rails and rest of usual fuel system
-etc etc full exhaust, suspension, and so on which is not important with the questions I don't think.
So anyway, I have been putting off changing the spark plugs because I know it will be a hassel, but the car is getting kinda sluggish. I had most of the work done and don't know what the plugs are gapped at. I guess I could take them out and check, but wanted some expert opinions about the best plugs and gap numbers for my combo. Also, if there are any of you who have an aftercooler, and know an easy way to change the plugs without having to move all of that plumbing, I'd appreciate it.
Next, I really need a good tuner for my car. I had it set up with a very safe and conservtive tune in the beginning but think it's a little to rich and safe now. I live in SC and would love to find someone close, but will travel to the best tuner if needed. Names appreciated.
Finally, I know I need a tuner or progammable engine management unit. Before all the bashing about searching for past post, I have reviewed and read years of info. Which now makes me more confused. Just your 0.02 cents worth. Again thanks for the information and help.
