NOVI being to old to rebuild ???

I thought I read somewhere here about someone trying to send a Novi 2000 back for a rebuild and Paxton telling them it was too old to rebuild, and they should just go out and buy a new head unit.Is this true and if so what was the seriel no.I am looking at buying a second Novi 2000 this one a pass. side mount for my street car.The guy selling said the serial no. started with a 5 and it was prob. about 5 to 6 yrs old.He said it is an older one that has never been cracked open.He had read of guys having problems after paxton rebuilding so he never sent it back even for a look over.I just want to make sure if this head unit would ever need a rebuild I would be able to get it rebuilt and not have to buy a hew head unit.Any help would be appreciated.
