I am attempting the same thing. I cut the pulley today and hopefully I will get done welding tomorrow. When finished it should be about 7.5 inches. Where do you guys get the cobra WP pulley. The ford dealer wants about $50 for it, is it avaliable anywhere for cheaper? I am currently running the F-150 pulley, it is about 6.5inches with a power pipe. Anybody know about how many pounds more I will see with a 7.5in? I get about 8-9#s at about 6700rpms. I want 10-12#s hopefully!!!!

With the 8 inch and a powerpipe I see 15lbs. So you guys will be seeing 12-13lbs no problem

FUN FUN FUN, let's see some pics when the pullies are done.

I got mine just about all welded up. It is very true. Came out great. I also ordered the cobra water pump pulley today from the ford dealer. It should be here tommorow or the next day!!!!
I will try to post pics tommorow. Cobra pulley=$17.86
7.5in junk yard pulley=$15, and a stock mustang pulley=Free.
Total cost =$32.86 for I hope 12lbs. YEA!!!

well I got the 7.5in pulley I made done today. I installed it with a cobra wp pulley. It is about 97-100deg out and I went from about 8lbs with the f-150 pulley to a solid 11lbs. The pulley spins just as true as the stocker. I took some pics and will try to post them later.

How do I make the pics smaller?

Sweet, man that thing is huge compared to stock. It's amazing what a difference 1.5" can make :D

That looks like it turned out great btlfed. I can't wait to get mine back.
I actually have two of them in the works and which ever one I like best I will use and I may sell the other.:)
One is the one in the maching shop being trued and welded that is in this thread and I also have a inside late night pay with beer unit being built at a different shop that will be an all new scratch built pulley. I keep you guys posted.
btlfed get that car to the track eh.:)
-
My car is a convertible and I dont have a cage so the 2 tracks around here will not let me run any thing faster than a 13.99:(
I ran a 13.8 before my Intake, Blower and N2O an street tires.
I also run hoosier Quick time pro's now too!
So my car is strictly a street car now.
-
btlfed, you can always get at least one full run in. Test out the track and just let-off at the 1000 ft. Then when it seems like ya got it worked out, let 'er rip one last pass :D
-
My battery is in the trunk and they wouldnt even let me make one run unless I installed a ugly master cutoff switch that has to stick out of my bumper. (or be in plain sight). And my exterior is totally stock looking. No fancy hood or wheels or wings or any other crap like that. Well unless you notice the Hoosier Quick time Pros on the back! Its about as much of a sleeper as a gt convertible can be and I would like to keep it that way.
I am looking for a 4cyl notch to cut up for the track though.

The switch can easily be concealed behind the license plate, there was a thread a while back on the Corral with numerous pics. Pretty slick set-up that looked stock & could double for a anti-theft deterrent.
Try a search on there & you'll see what I mean.
