Have you guys noticed that Paxton's newer superchargers look more like prochargers! I looked at a procharger before I bought my Paxton and didn't like the material they were made out of. My Novi 2000 is one of the first ones put out, and the material that Paxton made mine out of looks a lot better than the newer ones. One thing I know is prochargers aren't as reliable as the Novi 2000, and if the casting that the superchargers are made out of has something to do with the reliability of the prochargers then I wouldn't buy another Paxton.
I'll just have to keep mine fresh.
I have a 05753
i need to know if there is any diferance in the old renegade novis like is the step ratio diferant and is the impeller diferant also any info would be helpful
step up ratio is the same on all novis. On the old Novis if there is a -K it has an impeller made out of a different material called kynar. The newer RACE model of the N2K has a cryogenically treated impeller.
the old ones from what i know had a 3.54 step up and the newer ones have a 3.50 i need to know what serial numbers match the 3.54
the old novis had a 3.54 step up and the new ones have 3.50 i need to know what serial numbers match the 3.54
I've never heard of that, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been stumped :P Who did you hear that from?
nmra tech inspection couple guys had a 3.54 and some of us had 3.50 the old novis had 3.54 was told that by vortec race and media relation manager Ricky Best
News to me. Its hard to tell, but I'd guess they might have started with that step up ratio in the 07xxx series.
i think you need to look into your info but i think that you have your numbers wrong with the owners granatille was the 05000
I believe you are correct, If Ian sees this he can change the voting options.
hey guys, i am new here and would appreciate any info you could give me. i just bought a used 2000, the s/n is 05057. from the poll it appears to be one of the original units. is this a good or bad thing? i am also trying to determine approx how much boost this is currently setup for. the blower pulley is 3.25" and the crank is 7", i think, i dont have it with me right now. i am replacing my older sn92 on my 351 with this baby, and i would like to see around 12psi. let me know what you think
I've got one of the older units and other than some belt alignment issues I haven't had a problem with it. I bought mine used off of ebay and it was missing some parts that led to my belt alignment problems.Quote:

The amount of boost you'll see will depend on how free flowing your heads and exhaust are. Boost is just a measurement of airflow restriction. I can tell you that with that combo your impellar would be about 45750rpm at 6000 engine RPM. Just to give you a comparison, the stock pulley setup of 7" & 3.5" would be at 42480rpm @ 6000rpm. The stock pulleys are rated at around 10# on a stock 302 setup. So I would guess the pulley combo you have would be for 12-14# on a stock 302. Granted you're trying to fill up a 351, which can hold a lot more air, and then factor in how well your heads flow and what kind of exhaust you have and you COULD only see as much as 8# of boost at 6000rpm. The only way to know is to wait and see.
The trick is to try and reach maximum impellar speed at your shift point. The Novi's "unofficial" max impellar speed is 55,000RPM. The formula to use for a Novi is:
((crank pulley dia / blower pulley dia) * engine rpm) * blower ratio = impellar speed
The Novi 2k's blower ratio (aka step up ratio) is 3.54. For a comparison, a Vortech V-1 (s-trim) is 3.45.
EDIT: Remember, if you're running a ribbed belt (not cogged) that this forumla does NOT take into account belt slippage. So no matter what number you come up with, the blower will be spinning a little bit slower.

i hope my unit is new enough!!!!
SN/06906

ps. in any case it looks purty!!!!
I am also curious to what serial numbers have the 3.54 step up ratio. I was one of the racers that was disqualified in GA for having a blower with a less then legal step up ratio.
The difference isn't much, but I figured I could be giving up close to a pound at 8k rpm.
07506 packaged in early Nov 03 and bought on 11 Nov 03.
Mine is #06403.
Mine is SN# N05454, Paxton and X2C Motorsports claim this is one of three modified by Paxton (this is one of the two that X2C got) and has gone 8:50's on a 347 with no cooler, Dfi on stock style suspension full weight.
05472 here ............ got it on Ebay about a year ago.
Goona bring this to the top for the new owners and the ones just joining us with used units.
Hello all, and thanks again for bringing this up. I have aquired a Novi 2000 with the serial number 05147. I do have a question about it, does the oil inlet of the older Novi's reside on the bottom of the head unit? Check out my pics section and let me know. The person I got it from is the original owner and it has worked flawless for him. He did have a custom bracket made. If it is possible could those of you who own the older 2000's please post some pics of your brackets and tensionsers, so I can maybe get some different ideas of how I want to officially set mine up.
Thanks,
Eric
mine is 06803. I just picked it up this past Friday. Still brand new. lol
We never did solve the issue, which serial numbers started getting the 3.50 step up gears?
new to me novi2000 # 07420

SN# N 05302
do you guys know what the letter represents?
Mine is SN# N 05232.
the car was put togeather back mid 1998. The blower should have been new then. It was run with 24 psi for a long time, currently it is pushing 15-18#'s. I am looking to convert to a 8rib set up the cog is just to much. :guess:
New to me and my serial number is 07588

My old one was SN# N 05232. Had to send it in for a rebuild and they said the blower case had changed over the years and the seals were diffrent sizes. they offered me a new one at an exchange price of $1000.00. Looks real nice "polished" my old one was getting hard to pollish back up over the years.
