I contacted Paxton about a Novi 1000 for my Mustang, and was told that the 1000 would not be a good choice with my mods (see sig.). Here is what they said.......

I got a ton more mods than you do ! (not bragging ,I'm just stating the facts)
The NOVI 1000 works awesomely for me. (i'm sure a 2000 would be better)
I see 14lbs of pressure, and my heads and intake are fully race prepped and
fully ported/polished.
i think a novi 1000 will do just fine for you. I have performor intake, 70mm TB, 75mm maf, eql length headers, off road H-pipe, ect. but i do have a stock long block and i just bought a 1000 kit and had it put on and it works great. I dont have a boost gauge yet so I am not sure how much boost i am getting and i have not taken it to the track so I dont know what times i will run but i have done a little stop light racing and have blown the doors off a car that ran dead even w/ me before i charged my stang. So unless you have the money for a 2000 i would get the 1000.

That setup will work with the Novi 1000! They were just telling you that becuase they want you to buy the 2000! Also be aware that the new style 1000 doesn't make as much boost as the old one unless you want to void the warrenty by changing the blower pulley!

WOW...thats pretty steep If it is a budget thing get the 1000 but if you have the money to get the 2000 I highly reccomend it.
It will work great.
As mentioned you have to remember that every company is a salesman. They would much rather sell you a 2K over the 1.

Hmmm I wonder why the plastic discharge tube is no more :eek: ohh not to mention that the NEW 1ks are a 2 belt system instead of a single belt system... :eek: OHHHHH, but good ol paxton STILL does not include a bypass valve with kit... :rolleyes: Some people just never learn :) Maybe they didn't read our posts griping about that ;)

You get more power out of the 1000, but you'll have more in it. Do the 165's...at least thats my opinion.
You could always do the 165's and a nitrous kit :D, cost you close to what the 1000 would, maybe a little more.
Get the N1k to start off with. Then add some cheap gt-40ps or ported stock heads and 10 psi you will be rockin'

well i went w/ the blower first but i know a guy that went with the afr 185s, a cam and RPM intake but has a stock gear and i have a 373 and i am faster than he is

One more question........ How safe will the Novi1000 be on my motor, it's at 89,000 miles? Any issues running it in the winter? Temps here get into the single digits.........
well my car has about 120k on it and it seems to be doing OK but as far as the winter thing goes i dont think you are suppose to start the engine if it is below 25 deg. It is either you cant start if or if you do start it you have to let it warm up before you drive it.
well here's my thoughts. Worse comes to worse and i had to drive the car and i was nervous about the cold start up all i'd do is take off the belt till it warmed up. 3-9/16" bolts. Cause when it's cold around here(snowing) you can't use more than 100 horses anyway.
Okay I consulted the owners manual....
"In order to achieve the low noise level of Paxton Superchargers, Paxton specifies precise manufacturing procedures that call for minimal internal clearances. These precise tolerances, however, are not conducive to temperatures below 25*F. Therefore storing the vehicle in a heated garage and/or aftermarket engine blanket is required when the vehicle is subjected to a "cold start-up" in ambient temperatures below 25*F. Failure to comply with this may result in immediate supcharger failure and invalidate the superchargers warrenty.

Nah.....that was 15 years ago. I just want the power to be there, if I need it, without advertising the fact.
tell'm the waterpump is going out! always worked for my cause i got a crappy summit plastic overflow that didn't jive with my radiator last year.
Yup, bad alt. bearing usually works too :D
