Hey guys I just wanted to know in the procharger kits where do they mount the mas air or the univer?
Do they put them inside the fender well between the throttle body and the intercooler?
Does the distance from the meter to the throttle body mater at all?

Yep, the fenderwell is where it goes. And I don't think it matters where between the I/C and TB that the meter goes, there's not a whole lot of room to move it in the fenderwell :D

I got rid of my Univer from inside the fenderwell and bought a ATI Blow Thru Tube. I fabed some pipe to make up for where the univer was and then I cut the pipes that led to the TBody. Ended up putting the blow thru meter under the hood. Here are some pics.Quote:

here is a random question, does your 03 gt have a seperate IAT sensor after the meter? Or did they integrate it into the mas? The connector on my new meter is a 6 pin and my stocker was a 4 pin. Car is a 98 cobra.... Pro-Flow said it will work but I am just guessing that's what the 2 extra pins are for and when looking inside the mas I think the small little sensor besides the mas air sensor is the integrated IAT sensor.

Hey Mod Goose. I also have the ProM ATI Solution tube and it DOES have the IAT sensor in the meter. I had already moved mine into a different location since I was originally using a LMAF. The meter has been working well for me and judging by ScaryGT's dyno numbers, I'd say it's working well for him too :DQuote:

Yes my new Tube has the IAT integrated in it. My Univer had it seperate.
So far I love the the ATI Tube. You'll be happy with it.

Hey ScaryGT, is that bend in the pipe before your meter throwing the readings off?
I just installed mine and I guess the guy at Pro-M told me my meter can't have any bends within 12 incs of it??? If so I am in a huge mess with my setup right now....
I learned the same lesson that ScaryGT did, I had to move the maf out of the fenderwell and run it before the throttle body with a nice straight shot going in. Mine now has about 10-12 inches of straight shot before the maf. I just reworked some of the piping to get it correct. If you do change the piping, make sure you have flared ends on all the pipes so they don't blow off under boost :DQuote:

Can any of you guys tell me from this flow sheet what size injectors this meter is caled too?

So it caled to 96 pound injectors right?
Yeah, that's exactly what that means.
I just checked my Pro-M flow sheet. "96" inidcates the base file Pro-M started with and the "42" is the injector size.Quote:

Sorry guys but I almost never check this site. The ProM meters will run pig rich and not idle until you tune them. They apparently tune the for top end power and leave a huge error tolerance at the lower idle rpms.
I had the same problems with both my Univer and Tube... had it tuned by SCT and the thing idles like a stock 2valve now.
So far I'm having no problems with the way I setup my piping... I have almost a foot of straight pipe prior to my blow thru tube.. If I was having problems I could rotate the meter (tube) clockwise or counter clockwise to compensate for turbulance.

Okay, I'm gona' stick up for Pro-M right here... the Univer meter deals with airflow TOTALY different than any other meter, as shown by two different tuners on my car last year. EVERY problem that I had was directly related to the meter and I took it back in time and time again to get callibrated with the same exact results. I had it up to a VERY reputable shop to get tuned and they could NOT get it to work right... I then had Pro-M's tuner look at the car and he wipped up a program that made the car work like a dream, his explanation to me is that you can not buy this meter without having the car tuned and expect it to work (obviously... I already knew that) and he also said that just about every tuner out there doesn't pay attention to the flow sheets when dialing in the initial numbers for the injector curves... he said that this is crutial and that was how he based his quick tune to get the thing on the road... and it worked great. The Univer just simply deals with the air differently than any other meter due to the way it samples it.Quote:

As I said before... read my previous post. Do NOT expect to plug a Univer into your car and have it work. It is a completely different meter that has a totally different way of sensing the airflow than the standard sample tube style meter. You HAVE to get the car tuned for it to run right, that is the bottom line.

I can't help you there, but what I can tell you is that the Univer is a better meter, you just need your car tuned once installed... which as you know, you should do anyway.
There aren't many ways of looking at it... if you turn a car that was originally designed to be N/A into a forced induction application... there are only so many things you can do to make it run right without actually having the computer "tuned" or reprogrammed to accept what you have done and manage the fuel safely and correctly to make good, safe power. Your best bet is to stick with the Univer that you already have and get your car tuned... it will run better in every aspect, be safe, and make way more power anyway... I don't see why some people are resistant to doing the job the right way.

Well so far we got the car to idle back to normal... The voltage of the MAS on the data logger shows everything is fine... soo now just to tune the car on the dyno followed by a street tune session.
What exactly are you going to do on a "street tune" that won't already be done on the Dyno?
We don't have a mustang dyno around here so we use the dyno jet 248c. Sometimes even after tuning the car on the dyno the car will still detonate under load. This is mainly due to using only 91 octane around here. So we run the car up a grade with a load on the motor and check to see if the knock sensors go off on the auto tap. Due to some problems with the car right now it can't be tuned yet. The radiator has a crack in it and the electric fan is not working. Always something to bring your whole week down. So maybe in a week or two we can have it back on the dyno. We had it on the dyno today for a little bit but it was just going from bad to worse with the way the car was heating up. Oh well....just my luck I guess. :( :mad:
Haha, well, good luck with it and hopefully the problems stop for you... I hate issues like that... that get in the way of progress and cost money, but are just simply anoying. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
