I'm fabbing a new heavier duty bracket for my D1. I'm just wondering if anyone would know If I need to attatch to the point on the pulley side of the case. There only one point here. Does anyone know why procharger uses it. I included a couple of pics. This point is where the red dot is, on the 3rd pic.

I think they use it to have as many attach points as possible. Now that your new bracket is thicker how are you planning on making the blower pulley, which will be moved toward the firewall by the extra bracket thickness, line up with the crank pulley, which will be in the original location?
If I figured right it should still line up in my case. I am only useing an 8 rib belt. I whas looking at that attatchment point last night and saw that it actually is raised almost 1/8". So even when my old bracket was bolted down it sat cocked on the procharger. Im considering grinding it down unless any one knows why its raised. John maybe you could look at yours and tell me if its the same way. I can get more pics to show you latter.
Yeah, if you can get some pic's that would help me to see where you are talking about but if it doesn't sit flush on the bracket then you should do what is needed to make it flush.. Probably the best way to know where things end up is to put it all together and see how the pulley's line up. If worst comes to worst you could always make up some longer spacers (the ones between the two brackets).Quote:

Yes, mine uses that single bolt also. It did on the serpentine bracket setup as well. You should be able to use it if you make your spacers the correct length. At least I am pretty sure you can if I understand the situation correctly. I will relook at mine tonight to refresh myself on how it all attaches. BTW, are you a machinist? That new bracket looks very professional.
I took a look at the way the brackets are engineered and the bolt you speak of is very important. The use of this bolt is what sets the required length of the spacers that go between the bracket you made and the bolt hole bosses in the blower housing. Definitely use that bolt and then measure the distance between the back of your bracket to the bosses on the blower housing to determine the length of the blower spacers. Make sense?
I am going to send some pics to procharger and ask them. Thanks for the compliment on the bracket. I am actually a welder/fabricator at the company I work for. I am fortunate enough to be able to stick around and use the shop and equipment after work. I do what I can and If I need some machining done I have to have one of our 2 machinists do it.
