It finally ran a 11 at the strip.
AFR still fat at 11.0, but it went 11.904 @109.51MPH with a 1.58 60ft. I'm pleased with the ET. Minor head wind of 5MPH, and about 63 degrees outside.
I think there might be a little more with a leaner AFR.
Has anyone tried an aftercooler with one of these? Like the Vortech unit?

I use water injection instead of a intercooler, much easyer.
I'm going to try an Air to Water intercooler; one of those EBay specials for $100. This Wednesday I will make a test pass with just the intercooler in place to determine if its a restriction before I sink any more money into the peripherals like a container, hoes, etc...
I would like to se the intake air temp around 80 degrees compared to the 175 degrees now.
Hopefully PW or Solanki get a VR4 kit to market. I would really like to upgrade as I feel the blower is really maxed out given the low MPH number. If neither becomes available I may have to sell this setup and go to the dark side (Vortech V-3 Si).
The short term goal is 11.75, long term 11.50 consistently. Long, long term goal 10.90, then dial back to stay in my street class.
Well I ran the car last night at the track with the intercooler in place( see above pictures). It appears to only reduce the boost by about .25-.5psi through the mid section of the track, but I still saw 7psi through the traps. All in all I would say it cost about 0.04-0.05 of second in the quarter mile.
Intersting, the added pipe and intercooler decrease the intake air temp. The passes I made were with no water in the intercooler, it was just a test pass to see what the restriction would be. However, letting the car cool in the lanes the intercooler seem to work like a heat sink. Normaly I see IAT of 165-180 degrees, but last night the IAT was in the 130-140 range with comparable outside conditions.
The tank for the water is back ordered, I hope to have it before the last race of the season 11/20 so I can test it with ice and see how cool I can get the IAT.
Car still ran 11.95 at 110 with 10.2-3 AFR (I know I need to lean it out)

Car went 11.78 @ 112 with 1.57 60ft on Drag Radials
The cheap EBay A2W intercooler works. IAT was 140-180 before, now with just water it was 104 degrees through the traps and in the 90's in the middle of the pass. With a little ice it was 94 degrees through the traps and in the 80's through the middle of the track. I'm pleased considering the cost.

Took the car to the track last week to test the VR4 upgrade. Out of the box it went 11.58 @115.5mph with only 18 degrees of timing. Shifting at only 4,800 rpm.
I pullied the blower way down. 7" crank pulley with a 4.75" blower pulley.
Next time out I'm going to load the tank with 110 octane and turn up the timing.

I just discovered that my boost gauge was reading incorrectly. I had a SW gauge that only read to 10psi, and then I swapped it for a new gauge that reads to 20psi. Took the car out for a spin and discovered what I thought was 10psi was only 5psi. Bench tested new gauge, original gauge and a third borrowed gauge. The new and borrowed gauge read 5psi when my original reads 10psi. This would also explain why I have 12psi of fuel pressure (7psi base fuel pressure + Boost of 5psi = 12)
So, last year when I thought I had 7psi with the HO impeller, I only really had 3.5psi. When I swapped to the VR4 I thought I had 10-12psi I really am only making 6psi.
Please take note I am very sorry and embarrassed for the miss information, I did not discover this until a few minutes ago. I had no intention of misleading anyone.
FYI:
HO impeller @ 40k rpm was really about 3.5-4psi (7 crank pulley, 4.2 blower pulley, 5,500 engine RPM)
VR4 impeller @ 36K RPM was/is 6psi (same, but with 4.75 blower pulley) The 11.58 ET I ran earlier in the month was really with only 6psi and 25 degrees of timing. Evidently the 11.78 it ran last year was with 4psi and 30 degrees of timing.
