    Supercharger basic?

    TIA

    I have an '02 Xterra, v-6 SC

    Bypass valve opens auto via manifold vacuum as eng speed increases and demand drops.

    Highest boost recorded is about 7 pounds.

    Noticed that ECM seems to shut system down boost to only 2 pounds after very hard push of 6+ pounds at high RPM. This is done via an external valve that can send boost pressure to bottom side of bypass valve, closing/ regulating it. I can reset the system and achieve high boost after shutting engine off and restarting.

    Am I risking damage to my engine deleting the extra valve and just letting the main bypass do it's job?

    I do not know that vehicle. Is what you describe all OEM? Could you put up a diagram for us to see?
