    new tool/toy

    i just got this. its a HARRIS port-a-torch. $313 from a local welding supply outfit, full bottles , ready to go.

    yeah, i know, big deal. but i'm happy, i've always wanted one of these. btw, i didn't buy bigger because i have a small garage, and i won't use them often.

    i have been using these lately. i'm making a throttle bonnet out of .090 3031 aluminum. and i heat the metal very hot, nearly melting, and use alumiweld sticks to weld it together. all welds are hidden, so they don't have to look good.
