Best gear to run

Hey guys i got 88 mustang coupe superchager whats the best gear to run i got 4.10 in it... its just littin the tires up all thur 4th gear..thanks

Welcome to the site.

From what I know, 4.10s are WAY too low to be running with a blower. Blower's tend to favour 'load', and when you run very low gearing all you get is tire smoke (as you've experienced). I'm not a gearing expert, but I'd be tempted to step down to something like 3.08 and go from there; I've seen (and heard of) several blown rides lower their ETs by going to taller gears, something you wouldn't expect to happen.

Hopefully someone with more experience/expertise in this matter chimes in soon though. I don't want to steer you the wrong way.

3.55 or 3.73 gears should be plenty with a blown stang..

If it's a 5-speed I would go 3:73, they work great on my supercharged 93GT.
