    I don't have the race valve... the standard ATI aluminum valve.

    I'm only carrying about 10" of vacumn with my cam and the ATI by-pass works fine. It is a really soft valve and opens easily. I believe you can also adjust it with the little screw on the vacumn diaphragm. I believe the BOV's for the turbo cars are a little stiffer and will require more vacumn to open them.

    I tried it out last night... just hooked a vacuum line up to it (BOV was just sitting in my hand, not on the tubing) and started the car up... I have plenty of vacuum for it, that's for sure.
