I think it would be the same route as if you had a smog pump, what made you go with that route, and how did you do it, I was thinking of doing that, but I was told it was a lot of money to do that. but if i could get a picture I could come up with something. hope it helps, I had a lot of trouble with my belt rounting but I can always come up with something. If you were in michigan I could help in person

I'd love to see a picture or two (or more) of it too! We can all brainstorm and figure out how the belt should be routed. I would love to see the setup on your car, post a pic.

    Ken,

    Thanks for the pic.

I am in the same situation as you except I am using smog and deleted my power steering.

In the stock form the belt should go like this:
off the alternator, around the tensioner, around the idler, back around the water pump, down to the crank, off the crank to the power steering.

Since you do not have the stock tensioner I would think you could just delete that part and continue on...

Here is a very quick pic for you...

That is honestly the way that I would think it should be... both will work given the correct belt sizes, but Ian's version looks better to me. If you don't have the right size belt, you wouldn't be the first person that had to go out and get a different size belt than suggested. Make it work, don't kill yourself over it. Try it Ian's way, and if that doesn't fit, get a belt that will in doing it his way... that is what I would do personally.

I would try that to, and I hope it works, because thats the same setup I would need to use.

how did it work out for you. did you ever get it done and was wondering why you used the 87-93 renegade kit instead of the 94/95 mustang.

I just got the motor back in the car, hopefully i will get it started today. Yes, i did use a 87-93 bracket. If i understand right there is no 94/95 bracket currently. i'll let you know, or you can just turn and face indiana and if there is a mushroom cloud late this afternoon you'll know i didn't start. hehehehehe. ken

Kobra94, which balancer/spacer combination are you using? Which crank pulley did you get? The pulley I got was a custom for the 93 Renegade bracket and 94 front cover, so I kept the 94 balancer spacer and all lined up OK. I'm just curious how the kits are made up now.

i am using a powerbond SFI balancer that i already had. the only problem i had was that the front cover had to be changed because of the power steering had to be relocated.

    Ken,

You got the powersteering relocation kit, right?

If so, can you post some close up pics of it? I haven't tackled that part of the install yet, but some pics would probably help :)

will get some pics taken later today, or tomorrow. anything you specifically want to see? my installation is not typical because i retained the 94 alternator which requires more spacing than a 93 style. ken
