well if you grab the pulley, you might be all set. 468LC has a bigger pulley for his P.S., maybe he can help more with this.

Guys I really think you are starting a bad internet myth with this 1:1 pump ratio.
It is not mandatory nor will your pump blow up just from being spun faster.

I have checked on my very own 96 F 150 and it is not 1:1 from the factory. The F 150 pulley is about 6.5" in dia and the pump pulley on my truck is just under 6" in dia.

However I do support the1:1 rule when you can.
I for one do run a larger 7" pump pulley on mine that I took off a 3.8 V6 ford. I didn't do it for fear of overspinning the pump though, it was more for the half of horsepower that I might get out of the deal.:)

I think the leading cause of failure is for one

Most Novi installers are using an original VERY tired power steering pump and two

Most people are really tightning the belt tension to the max to try and avoid belt slip.

Hell I lost my pump shortly after putting the novi on my car just with the stock pulley but it had been running with an underdrive crank pulley for a long time and also the pump was 12 years old with 150k miles on it and had never been flushed.

Don't get me wrong though I would NOT run an 8" crank with a stock pump pulley. I just don't want to see people afraid of the F 150 pulley over this.

good point Steve, that is why you are a guru of the Novi 1000. mine was stock when it seized, and i bought a brand new pump, then never installed it, just bypassed the whole thing....
