    8inch ASP crank pulley

I ordered an 8inch crank pulley from asp for my revised novi 1000 a few days ago. How much boost will I add approximately, I was told I will go from 5psi to 12, is this accurate, how much power will that translate into, it is a tight fit with the fan and water pump pulley right now, will I have to modify anything?

I ground down a bit of the outside of the water pump pulley and got ahh, I think it was 1 1/2- 2 inches bigger belt. If you want I can get you the belt #.
They told me it would be good for 15lbs on a stock engine. I haven't run my car yet with it on, I'm still waiting for a new MAF.
If you end up making 12lbs of boost you will have gained roughly 84 HP.

chem5, it "should fit the revised setup without anything other than a belt. although you may have fuel and timing stuff buy!
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

Yeah I don't think you need to grind the water pump cause it is seperate belt. Hmm I wonder how much clearence I would have with my electric fan..... "it's tight now"

Yah but that seperate belt rubs the outside of the pulley with the outside of the belt.
I ordered an even longer belt to see if the slack will allow the tensioner to push down further and avoid the wp pulley, cause the one I have now is pretty tight and was rubbing before I shaved it down.
I should have the belt tomorrow.

If you can get me the part number that would be greatly appreciated. I was looking at my setup again and the 8rib belt is awfully close the the water pump pulley edge and the fan spindle right now.

The belt # is 5080590, I'm not sure if that # is the same for all belts, this belt is a Dayco.

mygt8a4re: yah, I ordered it at the same time I ordered the blower. I talked to the guy I ordered the MAF from and he says it sould be here by the end of the week, so if everything goes well I should have some results then.

It was rubbing with a smaller belt, but the one I listed there, looks a lot better.
