    HP vs Boost ?s

Ive got a 408W and Im getting 14 pounds of boost out of my D1SC.Ive read that if you get 14.7 PSI out of your setup it should double the HP.Like a 250HP 302 with near 15 PSI should make 500HP.Is this correct or not. Thanks guys.

I think in theory that is correct. However, in reality it is not. The idea is that you are doubling the amount of air and fuel going into the motor so the HP should double. Engine efficiency and many other factors come into play that prohibit this from happening. Typically you should expect around an 80% HP increase in that situation, IMO.

I tried to dyno my car but was unable to get any numbers due to the high stall of my converter (6200 at the time). I have a feeling it can be done but the dyno shop I used probably didn't know how to do it.

Not sure what bad things you heard about the D-1 but I haven't heard any. Friend of mine dynoed his D-1 car at 550 RWHP and was running 10.1 @ 138. He has since sold it for a D-2

The problems I keep hearing is that 15psi is spinning them to high, belt problems, and the blower brackets. I have a 94 mustang with a 351 and I keep getting told the brackets are junk and I'll never get the belt to work.

Don't let any of the rumors discourage you. IF you are willing to fabricate and adapt you can make it work. I am running a D1SC with the 93 Renegade brackets in a 94 body, with the intercooler, and 12 rib belts. this has required me to relocate the rad, change the intercooler mount, relocate the power steering, mod the alternator, reroute the intercooler tubing as it leaves the blower,...................... you name it. BUT, it is working and in a few days i will be driving it. You just have to be patient, and a pretty decent McGuyver. Ken

I wonder if I would be able to get away with using the 94/95 mustang renegade kit.
