    first install ( whats the fix)

    Well the UPS man drooped off a big box today. so I am ready to start my install. I also got my smog delete pulley. I just read the post on the stock belt tensioner and it looks like I should have the same problem as some of you, I don't have a/c, what can be done about this, what's the fix ? I don't want to have that much down time . also I have a buddy that coming over Sunday to tap my pan for is there any reason way I should wait for him to tap the pan before I start the install

    One fix people are doing is putting another idler pulley sitting higher then the smog pump pulley.
    Two they are getting a larger powersteering pulley and smaller (cobra) waterpump pulley
    Or three you shave the nub off the tensioner and set it just before it hits the water pump. (leaves the belt with a little slack)
    For all of them I'd get the tightest belt I could FORCE on there.

    Many people have punched the hole as first timers and had to probs.

    Is there a hole for the pulley if i want to add another . and is the pulley something i can pick up at napa.

    There's a hole where a 7" bolt runs from the front the plate straight to the head, if you remove this bolt and buy a 7 1/2" bolt you can put on a idler, however the right size idler I found was a flat faced one (it was eating up my belt a bit) so I replaced it with a 6 rib but the biggest one I could find is still really small, so now the pulley does very little. So I shaved the nub off the tensioner and now it works fine.

    Here's a pic of what the flat faced idler looked like. *The tensioner is not pushing down on the belt*

    so you dont run a tensioner? and if i shave the nub off the tensioner does that mean that i just set it to where there is a good amount of space and ill be ok with the smallest belt i can get

    No, I do run a tensioner, it just wasn't on during the pic.
    Pretty much, that's how I did it and it seemed to work fine for me.

    or if i put my p/s back and use the upr A/C Eliminator Kit & Pulley it should work as good as stock for $45 and it working right it sounds good

    yes, if you use the p/s, a/c & smog delete kits you will have the same setup as factory with the novi1k..........youll just have to get the right len belt for the application

    DSS 306, S-trim, TFS trackheats, TFS trackheat intake, TFS stg 1 cam, Tremec....tons of cooling, suspension, exhaust, ignition, fuel & tuning parts that would take up too much space!
