    Timing Please Help Quick!!!!!

    I have TW heads 2.02/1.60 and a e cam, what should my timing be set at???? I try 10 degrees advanced and that didn't work
    93GT
    Rebuilt shortblock w/ forged pistons,TW heads, TF intake,e-cam,24 FMS,75mm Pro-M,65mm TB,MSD,Novi 1000,3:55/T5,275's out back and a bunch of other stuff..

    By "that didn't work" what exactly do ya mean??? We need a bit more info, to be able to aide you.

    it had zero acceleration, I put it back to stock settings, near 0. It runs now, but I think I may dyno tune the car.

    I think your turning the distributer the wrong way.

    It should be at 10* advanced or negative 10.

    you should be lining it up with the numbers on the right side of the zero. There are numbers on both sides of it, you must be over retarding the timing.

    You should have much more power at 10 than zero degrees.
    1993 notch, 357W forged pistons 9.2-1 comp,Vortech S-trim 3" / 8" pullies, AFR 185 heads, Trick Flow R intake, Anderson B451 cam, PMAS 80mm, 06 PMS, 60# injectors, 3.55 gears and PA SC C4, Dual Walbro fuel system. Best ET 10.35 @ 135mph

    there are little notches at the bottom of the distributor and the base that you turn it on. These were marked at the factory at 10* when you line them up. It's not exact but should get you close.

    i have mine set at 15.......i know don't say it, but it runs like a sunn-of-a-beach.....W/ Holley aluminum race heads & X cam

    Frank, 15 degrees???

    Remember this picure well:



    You may very well be seeing it in your future, If I recall correctly mine was about 12-13 degrees initial with my BTM pulling 1 degree per pound of boost (7 total)

    I run 10 initial, but I have a custom chip.
