ticking sound at high timing

it will give clacky sound at high timing not pinping just a tacking sound..then if i back it off it quits..i am running an e-cam with stock heads,and a novi 1k...engine is stock just the ecam..any ideas..oh yeah all new lifters,valves,valve springs yada yaday ada heads been rebult

Have you checked your rocker adjustment? Do you have any play in your pushrods?

stcok rockers...no play in pushrods....but why would it tick at high timing ,then quit at low timing...it mostly ticks at 2 grand ..then quits if more gas is applied...sorry i didnt mention that before
