    Camming the 5.0 for a Novi 2000 ??

I need to decide on a camshaft for my new engine and would like to know what is being used with good results. I'm looking to try and keep low(engine) speed tq. and still rev good to 6k rpm.

My combo is Novi 2000 @ 12-14#'s; Vortech after cooler; TFS track heat intake; AFR 165's; 9:1 compression; 1 5/8" unequal short tubes.

Off the shelf cams I'm looking at are:

Crower 15510, Comps XE258HR or custom. Dunno.

    Any insight? Thanks

Your combo sounds real nice. How much power are trying to make with it? What size injector are going to run?
My car has the exact same mods you listed (except a stock cam) and it made 472rwhp and 435 rwtq.

Doug, I have seen your numbers and they are great! Looks to me like you have a pretty agessive tune with your numbers through an auto. I like it! I would like the same or better tq. numbers at and through the mid range that your car has. I'm thinking a small cam upgrade may help.

Mine is a 5 speed and I'm looking to push the thresh hold of 93 octane with the 42# injectors I have with a correct tune. Max it out then detune for safety on the street.

    Thanks

Actually the 472rwhp tune was pretty mild. Total timing was only 26 degress and it was on 92 pump gas. With C16 in the tank and 30 degrees total, it made 505rwhp. I dont post those numbers bacause I don't drive it that way.

    cam

I've got stock pistons with AFR 165s, and Anderson Ford recommended I get the B31 cam with my Novi 2000. He said the cam is for a blower that is putting out 8-15lbs. of boost and will work with 1.6 roller rockers.

I have the b-31 cam and trick flow tw heads and street heat intake the novi 2000 is not on the car yet but I drove it with just the head and cam and it ran very well the B-31 has a great idle and raps up quick I have a lentech aod with 2500 stall.
Novi should be on car by the end of the week they off to dyno tune.
I will post # as well as how the cam works with this setup.

Blownvert, let me know how your dyno tune goes. My car is very close to being finished. I'm anxious to hear what it sounds like and how much hp's it puts out.
