upper intake manifold

im on the way to putting my car back together ... i got all of my stuff back on and i was wondering if the upper intake manifold gasket gets rtv on either side of it, friend has the haynes or whatever mustang repair book so i thought id post up here.


also, different between the gt40 and cobra upper intake manifolds? how much more power would i be able to squeeze out of the gt40 compared to the cobra

Dont use RTV ,just use the gasket.
It depends on your setup how much the gt-40 will help, But it will help. Maybe 20hp or so.

i have the cobra lower, i just wanted to swap the upper for the gt40 cause its much more nice looking and is a better manifold ..im supercharged, got edelbrock aluminm heads steed 19 cam, car hasn't run yet its still torn down on the process of being built up

Oh I thought you had a stock upper and lower.
You probly wont see any diff putting on a GT-40.
They are not much diff than the cobra, Lighter Though!

cobra manifold just looks 'ugly' the gt40 adds some spice to the engine bay, looks less stock. im not goin for sleeper mode anymore, that went out the window a long time ago =p
