    P1 ??'s

    Hey Guys

This is my first post here, hopefully someone can shed some light on a couple things for me.

I finally got my car back yesterday, so in away i'm
    very happy, but i'm not......SORTA.

I just got the fax copy of my last dnyo and
    it's 15rwhp less then my first one (1st=415rwhp 2nd=401rwhp). I guess what i
don't understand is how could i be making more RWHP
    (15) with a bad tune vs. now with a good tune??

AlI & in all i guess i'm happy that it's safe now,
but man i'm out 15 rwhp. To me that seems like alot
    of power to give up.

I still have this "thing" not sure if it's
anything......but when i get off the gas, the car
feels/acts as if i just down shifted.....???? Maybe
i should get with a few of the guys that already
have SC's to see if there cars do anything similar
    to that???

Oh one more thing i got on it a little on the way to work
from lunch & it never went over 5psi.....so, I'm not
sure what that could be their (I have an 8psi SC
    kit.)

It is hard to understand what you mean exacly by "it feels like you just downshifted when you get off of the gas", but between that and your power loss... you probibly don't have a good tune. ANY drivability issues are directly related to the tune weather it be factory or aftermarket tuning with a chip. If you are not happy with what you are seeing with your car now that it is 'tuned', I would take it right back to that tuner and tell him your concerns. He should have NO problem what so ever correcting those issues and/or re-tuning the car since you are not happy with the performance of it too. It is hard to say just how much performance you are supposed to get out of a tune, but it's rare to actually lose power because the whole point behind a tune is to get everything sync'd up and working together properly... that alone generally gives you un-tapped power. I would make a call at least. Where did you get it tuned at?

    Welcome!

Did you only see 5psi. that one time, or does it always only
    build 5psi.

    Intercooled?

    Good luck! Matt:D

It's tuff to explain what I mean by that...the best I can do is this.
Once I get off the throttle, the car acts is if I just downshifted, also on some occasions it bucks.
I had it tuned by Dez of Dez Racing, it just kills me to think that when the car was running lean it was making more hp then it is now. Granted I/everyone want the car to be safe first…it’s just too much hp lost as far as I’m concern.

    Maybe I’m wrong?????

I will call Dez today and let him know wants going on with the car.

    Thanks

I still don't know what you mean... Once you get off the throttle, the car acts as if I just downshifted... the only thing that happens when I downshift is the RPM's jump respectively because of the downshift... other than that, I can't think of anything else that the car does or how it acts differently. Does it pop and/or backfire or something like that? Is that what you mean? I would definitely call Dez to find out what's up with the power loss... with an un-tuned car, I am VERY suprised that he let that go out the door making less power than when it came in... that suprises me.

If its intercooled, Its probably not a -2 model. I have herd
a few people had a problem with the impeller being backwards
and only making 5psi. on the -2 models, but I think that problem has been taken care of.

Make sure all of your pipes and clamps are secure and tight.
Check your vacume lines and obvious stuff like that.

Call Mike Dezotell, He is a good guy and will make it all right!

Good luck and let us know what ya did! Matt

I'm getting a bucking affect when i get off the throttle...hows that?

Anyways I called Dez and he told me to bring it back and he would look @ it again. When i asked about the HP loss he told me it was done to keep everything safe.

The car stalled on me about 3 or 4 time since i got it & I can't seem to make more then 5psi stll.

Well, if he is as great as Ponyman says he is, he should really help you out... there is no reason that your car should stall and buck when decelerating. I'm sure that he will take care of you. As far as the HP loss... it still suprises me quite a bit to think that your car completely un-tuned was actually making more power than it is now. I wouldn't be happy with that unless it was absolutely neccessary to do what he did as far as tuning goes... but it doesn't sound like your tune is all that great anyway. Take it back in and let us know how it goes.
