    Need a new trans

Blew my T-5Z on friday. I want something stronger. I am leaning towards the Viper T-56. Any opinions?

    Thanks

Well you could go with a Tremec TKO. My buddy has one in his LX with a 383 and Nitrous. He runs 11.5 on motor and puts 500+ft lbs to the ground.

The T56 is the ultimate, you will be very pleased with it!

No matter what trans you go with I recommend a SPEC stage 3 clutch for your car.

What do you think of your lentech? Have you ever run the car? 60 foot times?
I talked to Ford Speed, i deal with them alot, and they are pushing an auto. My car was originally an auto and I am not sure if I want to go back. Any advice?

    Thanks
    Eric

P.S. I am not a 2000 guru, but I have been through alot with my kit. I can try to help with what ever you need.

My car started life as a t-5 car. I converted to a Lentech steet term. plus and I couldnt be happier. I dealt with Ross(if you talk to him, tell him Doug in San Diego, says hi)and they are the friendliest mail order people I have ever dealt with. My little coupe runs 1.55 sixty foot times on ET streets and is tame enough for my wife to drive the car whenever she wants. I have a brand new TKO, scattershield, center force dual friction clutch, Pro 5.0 shifter, and yoke in my garage if your interested. I bought it for my car when the t-5 blew up, but then I changed my mind. If your car is a freeway runner, I would go with the TKO or T-56. If you tend to hit the drag strip more often, I would get the AOD.

I really like my AOD, the C4 is awesome as well, but I like the over drive.

I have the Lentech street terminator plus with a 3000 stall. No trans brake as I highly ever drag the car. I also installed a tranny cooler and trans temp gauge.

Lentech's service is next to none, I only live 10 minutes away from their shop. If you go to my website, www.stangpower.com and look under tours, I have a Lentech tour with pics.

What do you use the car for?

    Ian,
I drive the car about 3000 miles a year. It sees the track about twice a season. I love driving the stick and am not sure if I want to go back to auto.
Dug, how much for your TKO set up? It would have to be shipped to Chicago.

    Thanks for your replies,
    Eric

My t5 served me well and I sold it before deciding it wasn't worth trying to frag it. It was hard to decide but the cost difference of putting in a t56 over a built c4 was ridiculous. Just got my Dynamic built c4 yesterday.
