I couldn't wait any longer. I haven't heard any activity from the Contour site for a few days. The guy at Innovative said that he would have to receive every payment before they would be shipped.

So, I just ordered one for full price last night.

I have called up innovative a few times now asking them various questions. I have to say that they are extremely helpful and have thouroughly answered all of my questions.

One of the questions I did ask was regarding the new model that is to be permantly mounted in the car. There will be no enhanced functionality with this unit. Actually I got the impression that the best way to go is with the current model with the remote display they are developing.

I kind of like the idea being able to take the unit from car to car too. The new model is scheduled for early next year. The RPM pick-up is supposed to be available in two weeks max.

Hi, everyone. I asked whether the RPM logging would work on a coil-on-plug ignition; this is the message I received back:

    Henry,

Thanks for your interest. The AuxBox will not be available until the beginning of next year. As far as our RPM Converter coming out in 2 weeks. You will be able to tap the ECU or use the inductive clamp. What you will need to do is open the software and tell the LM1 how many cylinders and what type of ignition you have. It's very simple to use.

    Thanks,

I also spoke with them live, and was pleased with their responsiveness. I'm in for 1 at this time.
