    impeller speed

    Have any of you guys calculated your impeller speed? If so what pulleys are you running and the impeller speed? The link below will give you the calculator to figure it out.

    I have a 77 crank and 28 blower..............71,000 rpms thru the traps, 25psi after the igloo.........eeeeeekkkk!!!!!!!!

    Are you shifting at about 7000 rpm?

    I shift 7400-7500 and hit the traps around 7500-7600

    72 tooth crank pulley, 28 tooth blower pulley, 6700 rpm shift point..... 59438 rpm.... 17 psi after the igloo.

    what size tires-325/50/15 BFG drag radials

    what compresion ratio-9.5:1

    what size engine-306ci

    what heads- Twisted Wedge

    what head gaskets-fel pro 9333 with wire in head

    what size headers-1 3/4 to 1 7/8 3.5 collectors Kooks Step headers

    what size cam- Anderson BS6 solid roller....slightly over .600 lift with 1.72s

    what tranny- Dynamic pro tree 2 powerglide

    Hmmm

    Spence, have you ever worn out the bearings or anything overspinning the blower?

    nope,
    that blower was on the car for 2 years, made close to 200 passes with it, never had a problem.

    Hmmm

    Thats great. At how much boost did you decide to go with any type of aftercooler. I still have pics of your one install of the intercooler in the front of the car.

    I decided to try inter/aftercooling after a few blown head gaskets thinking the discharge temps where the problem, but they werent. I went air to air first, this worked good, then I went to the igloo, also worked good, now I am going in car cooler, will have results soon. without the coolers, I have seen 27psi at 75-7600, with the coolers usually I see 23-25psi depending on the conditions outside.
