    7qt. oil pan

I am still running the stock 5qt. oil pan,and was wondering if anyone could tell me the pros and cons of upgrading to a 7qt. pan? Can having more oil make the water temp lower? Thanks for any help.

A higher capacity oil pan will help ensure your pickup doesn't go dry. Really the benefits of an aftermarket pan are the baffles and windage trays which help keep the oil in the pan and off the crank. Some offer magnetized drain plugs to pickup metal debris in your engine before it gets sucked back into the oil pump. Cons are sometimes fitment, and sometimes hang really low to the ground.
