    Rear Gearing

I will be switching from a T-5 to a Lentech AOD and I currently have 3.73's. Should I switch to 4.10's or stay with the 3.73's? I'm not sure what stall I'll be running yet, probably 3500-4000.

    Thanks

    Bobby,
I don't know if I ever told you, but I had 4:10's in the blue car before I put the heads and intake on it. I had to switch to a set of 3:73's because I didn't want to spin the motor past 6200 at the track. Since you have a stock block on your, I would suggest you keep the 3:73's in there until you see how quick it runs after you get it tuned. I would think that thing will make 550 plus rwhp. After you switch to the auto and take some weight out of the car, it should run in the 10's pretty easily.

I have 3.73's and had to go to a 28" tire to keep from running out of motor on the big end. In my opinion, power adder cars that make decent power should go with 3.73's, while all motor, 12 and 11 second cars benefit from 4.10's.

My car has an aod. Has 4.10 tires, I run a 28 inch tall tire. The motor will go pass 6600, doing the math with the current combination that I have, blown 306 so on so on, stock block girdle good crank, good rods...The car pulls like an SOB, and when I click third, it scares the bejesus out of. I have drive blown cars (manuals) with 3.73's and I would not trade my 4.10's for nothing!
