    cant read my comp

I have an 88 with mass air conversion (previous owner) if i wanted to hook it up to a computer what year should i put into the scanner when it asks. Ive tried a few scanners and a few diff years and nothing reads my car ... Also ive noticed that i have a check engine light in my dash but it doesent light up ever... Do 88's have a working light ? someone once told me not to worry because it was non-functioning ...

Dave you would have to narrow down as to which computer the guy installed when he did the MAF conversion. Have you tried popping the passenger kick panel and checking the computer for the label??? Once you figure out what computer, you can then narrow down as to which years that computer was used in stock applications.

Not sure what to say about the check engine light.
