    Another plug question

I am currently running Morotcraft AGSF32C plugs in my aluminum GT-40 heads N/A but when I add the S-trim what plug should I use? Do I need to run a heat range cooler? Which is the next cooler Motorcraft plug? What are you guys running?
    Thanks,
    Jason

Typically run 2 heat ranges colder plug than a stock application, not sure of the Motorcraft part# though.

    You might.

Which is the next cooler Motorcraft plug?
There isn't one, have to look elsewhere.

    What are you guys running?
I went from the [[EDIT]] NGK TR5 (std) to their TR6 (1 step cooler) and the plugs look *much* happier. The Autolite Race equivalent to the TR5 is the AR764, std. Autolite is 764, not sure if there is a cooler 763 or not...

Go to NAPA and get 3923's.

That is the part number and they are very good plugs.

Interesting, the Autolite.com cross-reference for their race plugs shows the following:

    Autolite AR3923 = Champion RC9YC = NGK BKR6E
    Autolite AR3924 = Champion RC12YC = NGK FR5

Or looking at it from the NGK side 95 Lightning & Cobra-R:

    NGK TR5 = AR764 = RS12YC
    NGK TR6 = AR103 = RS9YC

I have the feeling the different numbers are minor variations in seat type and thread depth, but they should all work in the Y303s and GT40/Lightning heads wrt seat depth. I have the iron heads which may not need as much thread engagement as the alloy heads, so I can use the fully threaded long-reach plugs but the Y303 guys can't use the short-threaded long-reach plugs.

    Here's the Autolite cross-reference

Chris- I've had this problem in the past, finding part#s for plugs for my iron GT-40s. I had NGKs (TR6s, but I don't think that is the part#, just heat range), that were 2 ranges cooler I think, and I've also run the autolite 764s (1 range colder). Is the AR103 and RS9YC 2 ranges colder then stock? The seats are different, on our GT-40 heads they are tapered, and stock heads are not(so not sure on the seat of the Champ plug), as for thread depth, not sure. I basically want to run the coldest plug I can with my iron GT-40s, and it is a PITA to find it, the 764s I've learned to accept. Any more info from anyone would be great, I know I'm not the only one.

Actually, I think I answered my own question after looking at your link. I found this to http://www.accufabracing.com/denso_2.htm

I prefer to run the shrouded electrode spark plug. I use the AR3934 on my car. I have had the best luck with them.

TFS Twisted Wedge. An AR 3934 is identical to the AR3924, but the center electrode is shrouded.

    FYI
There does appear to be a Motorcraft plug cooler than the AGSF-32C for supercharged applications using the aluminum GT-40 head. www.spmotorsports.com/mustang_plugs.html suggests the Motorcraft AGSF-22C.
