    Headgasket or not

I have a 89 5.0 with a s trim trickflow heads. I just got back from driving it and it sounded like it was overheated rumbling and spiting out of the overflow. But the temp gauge read about 180. I was woundering if I might have a blown head gasket. Is there any test I can do to see if that is the problem. Can I use a radiator pressure test gauge.

    Thanks

You will first have to do a compression test, then a rad pressure test.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck. It is probably a duck.
Sorry to say it, but those symptoms are classic examples of ye' ole' headgasket failure. Been there and done it a few dozen times. If don't have them already, put ARP head blots and good headgaskets down when you fix it.

Hey Doug, what the hell is a "head blot"???

Aside from that, I concur, stock gauges are infamous for reading incorrectly and you more than likely have a smoked h/g.

Sounds like a head gasket to me too.
