The S-Trim has straight cut spur gears and the SQ-Trim has helical cut gears. Everything else is the same. So yea its all in the sound.:)

The SQ also has a little better step up ratio than the S trim. SQ=3.60 S=3.45

this is the gear ratio inside, the SQ with the same pulley as an S should give you a little more boost earlier in the rpm range.

thanx, thats what i thought. why did they make them different ?

btw, are these pulleys interchangable ? are they keyed ? how hard are they to change ? any possible problems ?

yes, all vortech pulleys are interchangable, they are keyed, they can be a ***** to change sometimes. beware that changing from the stock supplied pulley will void the warrenty.

Oh man, you don't know what you are missing! The V1 is music to my ears. Go check out the video section. I wouldn't want a vortech if I couldn't have a V1!
