    Windsor build up Update

Well it just so happens an unmolested 69 windsor truck block and virgin crank has crossed my path and it ended up in the garage. It's all going to the machine shop saturday and the build begins. Ordering my pistons and rods next week. :D I can't wait!

I ordered rods and pistons from Brian@AD last friday and i'm waiting for them to come so i can rush them down to the machine shop. I went with Eagle H Beams with the L19 bolt option, and probe blower pistons for inline and twisted wedge heads. My LM-1 wideband will be here wednesday! Gonna guinnea pig my uncles camaro since it is way to rich anyway.

    Ok mini rant over.

    It's a WINDSOR!(james earl jones voice) not a windsor(pee wee herman voice)...LOL and it's a 357. which also happens to be a fine killing instrument and a great steak sauce! I've always called the 302 a 302 and a 351 a windsor.

Waiting on parts.... Not a big deal as we've got a long time before spring. Rods are on back order but i got the pistons and they look awesome. The block and crank are at the machine shop and the guy is waiting on me, Car is going to to get the cage next week. Will have some very good pics from that as well.

I don't have to take this abuse! ;)

thanks for the advice on the 351 though. I think it's the best way to go.

    Looks geat!

Just some FYI. I was going to use a 69 block for the 408 but it turns out that the block had to be decked to 9.46 and the pistons came for 9.50 (351 standard) With the compression height of the piston, the compression I wanted, ect.. I could not use the 69 without some heavy mods to the Probe Pistons. Luckily I had a 72 there that was sold to a friend and I will be using that.

Anyhow, just some FYI, I am sure your shop will check it all.

OK....I never specified for the 9.48 or the 9.50 even though i'm pretty sure I told Brian I was doing a 69 block. The pistons i got have a -22cc dish and the comp ring sit very low so if we have to whack the top off of pistons a little It may help me out anyway as i think my compression will be about 8.8:1 with the Vic Jrs. I still have a 40 over 72 block i could use but i'd need new pistons anyway sooooooooo we'll see.

Thanks for the heads up....hows the 408 goin?
