    Novi 1000 questions

hey guys, new here, looking at getting a Novi 1000 for my gf's car. we just bought a 306 rotating assembly, so now just have to get the block machined and assembled. now, i have my heart set on the novi 1000 already, since i cant afford the 2000, and the 1000 will give more then enough power. i have already asked many people what i should do for mods, but i figured i would finally sign up after lurking here and reading posts for the last 3 or 4 days. now my gf's motor is 100% stock (well, k&n filter, but i know those are huge power adders :p) and has 260,000 kms, hence the 306 rebuild. what i plan on running is: novi 1000, pro-m 75mm, 36lbs injectors, walbro gss340 pump, 70mm TB, e-cam, 1.7 roller rockers, 8" crank pulley, upr power pipe and some sort of fuel pressure regulator. im looking to get 10psi out of this, and will be running stock intake and heads (intake will be replaced ALOT sooner then heads). anything im missing? anything else you guys would recommend or change? i was told to expect around 320rwhp with this setup. thanks guys! anyone else from bc canada here btw?

Yes 1 thing, you will need a by-pass valve.
Good ignition and a boost retard of some sort. (i use a MSD6AL & Vortech retard)
Some here will tell you to get 42lb injectors BUT i also use 36lb injectors with no FMU and have had good luck.(i got the 36'ers in a trade)
So gather up info about fuel injectors but i think the 36'ers will be fine. :D

I agree with Frank, with running stock heads and intake you should be fine w/ 36's as long as you upgrade the ignition and keep a good tune.

Welcome and be sure to post some pics after install.

if you are getting a custom chip burnt you do not need a retard.
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D

hahahah! so have any of you guys ran on street tires? im pretty sure i wont ever be running slicks, just because im stubborn about having a "true" street car. no removing interior, etc. ill run drag radials, as those in my opinion, are just REALLY grippy summer tires :p any idea what that setup would get me on set of nitto 555R's?

outta run pretty good. Glad to see your doing the meter and big injectors right off the bat. It will run alot better that way. I've got a order in to Moser right for axels, a spool, and C-Clip elims. Can you say TRACTION?

My car started out as "true streeter" now i'm looking to make it as light as humanly possible without making it look like I tried. LOL

You deff won't need a boost/retard with a custom chip.
Just let them know the pulley sizes (crank & blower), shift points and fuel octane so they can determine your boost curve to set you a safe timing curve.

My car has 100% stock interior and 100% stock suspension AND is a conv.
