    Fuel and tuning issues

I have a '99 Cobra with an SQ, AFM, FMS shorty headers, full Bassani exhaust, and a powerpipe. It was installed and tuned at Apex in Santa Clara. They did a great job (as always) but the tune itself had a couple issues:
    • The tuning at around 5k was like walking a tightrope. The power level dropped significantly (~40hp if I remember correctly) and the timing had to be in an extremely narrow range to avoid detonation and pinging
    • We ran out of fuel above 6k and had to set the rev limiter accordingly.

They were able to get 420 hp and about 370tq out of it and it has been rock solid, but the fuel issues and the trickiness around 5k bug me.

    Any suggestions?

Yes. I was there and was lucky enough to watch a lot of it. He did a heroic job of it and got a safe, solid tune in place. They just couldn't get around some of the fuel issues and like I said, 5k was a strange area for this setup.
