I should hit about 330-350 w/ my current set up. Next summer I want to put in either a DSS 306 or 331 (havent decided yet) w/ Trick flow heads and a Trick flow cam, that will give me my 400.

The latest issue of MMFF gained 90hp with new heads. I'm guessing you would be in the mid to possibly upper 400s with cam and heads.
    89 lx 5.0; 5-speed, 70mm TB, 73mm MAF; 30# injectors, 1 5/8 shorty headers, flowmaster catback; novi 2k

Yeah thats what Im worried about, I really dont want anything over 430 to the rear wheels. I dont even want to touch anything close to 500 RWPH. Only reason I want a new motor is b/c my stock 302 has alot of miles on it and after I boost it Im sure a freash new motor would be nice. If I go w/ the heads and cam on the new motor I'll prob get a mild cam and some TW heads and detune the car. I really dont want to put my stock heads on a brand new 306 but maybe I could just get a set of better flowing Iron heads since the AL Heads do add alot of HP.

I have a dss pro bullet 306 with gt40x aluminum heads a afm b-41 cam running novi 2000 at 10psi and 17 degrees of total timing (spout out) and am making a comfortable 446-RWHP and 422-RWTQ. very streetable. Once you get the 400hp you want 450hp It just keeps on going your just starting to get the itch.
306 dss pro bullet,gt40x aluminum heads,Crane roller rockers,AFM b41 cam, cobra intake upper and lower match ported, 42lb injectors, FMU, pro-m 80 mass air, Morpheus power pipe, 255lph high pressure intank pump, trex inline pump, novi-2000 stock pullies 8-10psi, strange axles, 3:73 gears, full guages, tremec tranny, aluminum driveshaft, msd, msd boost retard, bbk headers, Mac h-pipe w/cats, 2 chamber flowmasters, eibach springs

I could deal w/ 446 HP, I doubt I'll get any more of an Itch once I hit my goal of 400 RWHP. Ive ridden in 500 RWHP stangs before.............no thanks I'll pass. You cant even have anymore fun on the street anymore w/ that kind of power.

:D Yeah I've learned that around 400rwhp is enought to keep any sane passenger with a firm grip on the door handle. I'm pretty sure my car last year made around 480rwhp. I strapped my brother in law in it one morning after work and took him for a spin. When we were gaining on traffic in a 55mph zone and the car hadn't completely hooked yet, HE WAS SQUEELIN LIKE A PIG!!lol ;)

FUN IS RELATIVE TO SANITY! :p
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D

I like it when passengers freak out when the car starts going sideways at 65mph in third.

    1988 LX Coupe, 302, C4, "E" cam, GT40X heads.
    437 RWHP (no NOS)
This dyno (I upped the timing and adjusted the boost retard.) was done in Nov 2003. The old dyno (Nov 2002) with blower and NOS was 462 total. The old blower number was 417 RWHP. So the 35 shot of NOS was worth 45 RWHP.
    I have a very conservative tune. About 11.5:1 air/fuel.
Best time with Blower and 35 shot is 10.95@126 MPH. (Nov 2003 Mason Dixon, MD) I hit the rev limiter. It should go about 10.8

    6.86 @101.96 1/8 mile time (10/27/02). (Great air)
10.95@126 MPH 1/4 mile time (11/2003) (Great air)
