is that with 2.02 valves? If yes and if you also have an aftermarket cam then I'd say be careful and check P.V. clearance. really you should either way

The twisted wedge head is the only 2.02 valve head that dosen't require notching pistons. ( for a small cam'd motor) You may have to go with the 1.9 valve head. If i was gonna do another 5.0 based street motor I would get the AFR 165's hands down. They flow like the eddy's you mentioned with a 1.9 valve and they kill the edellbrock stuff or anything else out of the box on the exhaust side

I think you can get away with the 2.02 valve with a stock cam but don't quote me.

summit says for these heads (EDL-60299) that they are made for stock pistons.. I think I'm going to have to make some calls tonight to summit and edelbrock

Why do you think they blow the Eddy's away? They weigh about what a iron head weights and I honestly don't think the have $hit over a Performer head

Have you ever checked out the MM&FF head test numbers?

i run have the 2.02/1.6 heads (#6035) on my stock 88 shortblock, with a .513/.529 cam and have no p/v clearance issues.

i run the 1.9/1.6 heads (#6037) on my 306 with a F-cam, Performer RPM intake, VR4 blower @ 8lbs.. and the car runs real good. Very mild setup as well. Probably good for about 120-121 traps in a heavy SN95 mustang.

not sure on the notching, I know you have to for an '86, definitely change the old head bolts out. they can stretch, blow head gasket
