1st road trip in my 500hp-11 second stang

My buddie (he has a 570 rwhp Buick Grand National) and I just got home from a car show that was 600 miles round trip.
It was 4 1/2 hrs each way and we only stopped for fuel. It took me almost 2 tanks each way. My buddie made it there and 1/2 way back on 1 tank (he has over-drive)
On the interstate, I maintained 3500 to 3800 rpm the whole trip both directions. (3.73 gears with a C-4 and a 10" 3800 converter) Thats 65 mph.
Not 1 single problem and the car stayed at 200* on the way there in 95* 2:00 pm afternoon Fla. sun and it was 185* coming home at mid-night.
45 lbs of oil pressure. We got lots of looks as we slowly cruised down the interstate getting passed by everything imagineable.
Oh well just wanted to tell you'all my 1st fun road trip, even though O.D. would have been nice.......

That's gotta be a great feeling. Glad the trip went well. And OD is just a small detail.

Congrats frank. It's nice to take a completely custom machine 600 miles with no issues.
89 Coupe with parts stacked inside of it and about 30#'s of dust on it with no end in sight. :weird:

    Although I am collecting parts for a 12.5:1 393 :D

Yes, We both entered the show and we both received trophies.
We both also got acknowledged for the furthest distance of actually driving the show vehichle.

I would "never" trailer my car.......to me , that would be like dating a "Penthouse Pet" and not having sex with her....... :D
