find a good deal on a leftover TKO or wait for a new 500

what should i do with 409rwhp? wait for the new 500 or try and locate a left over TKO and get it. a TKO should be able to hold the power i'm making ok but wonder if i should just wait and spend more money for the 500? i'd think that i could probably get a good deal on a leftover TKO.

My friend just bought the new 500 and it is a very nice shifting unit. Little notchy when down shifting but the upshift is awesome he says!

I'm pretty sure he ordered everything from D-n-D performance.

I believe the new Tremec 500 is supposed to replace the 3550. The 2 versions of the 600 are replaceing the TKO and the TKO 2.

i know they are replacing them. thats what i mean by the subject of this. wonder if i would be better off just trying to find a good price on a left over tko or wait and buy the new 500 or 600.

i'm pretty sure the 500 is the same price as the old 3550 but don't quote me on that one.

You would have no problems with a TKO.:)
Have you seen any screaming deals on them? I just paid 1399 local for my TKO
    2 months ago or so.:)

It's kinda up to you but as far as the strength of the tranny and your wanting to get the car going I would opt for a TKO.

One thing I would consider in this whole thing is how many problems will the new ones have? Every new thing is bound to have it's kinks that need to be worked out. Do you really want to be the lab rat with one in your car? I have a 3550 in my LX and hate it to death. Swore I would never buy another Tremec, then I bought the Cobra. Got one in there too I'd say get the TKO since they have been around a while and are proven. I wouldn't buy a new tranny fresh on the market for at least a year. But thats just my opinion ;)

I like new stuff. I always go for the new stuff b/c its new for a reason. Tremecs been making trannies for years. This is a tranny company were talking about not a car comp. The new sh-- is bound to be the bomb. But thats just IMO. Do what you want but Im way stoked on seeing the new lineup.. L8z.
