    Idle after start

When i start the car, the motor wont idle by itself. Cold, hot - doesnt matter. I have to hit the throttle just a little for it to hold an idle. And yes, i do have a bypass valve.

Would a "supercharged" calibrated Pro-m mass air meter solve this?

    thanks......

I would look for vacuum leaks first.

As far as MAFs go there is no gaurantee on that. I can pretty much say that mafs are a game of luck in my experiences. Yes it could definitely be the maf signal causing the lack of idle but getting another one to fix it could be a crap shoot.

The only difference with a "s/c" calibrated meter is that it's typically about 10% richer, meaning that it will "tell" the EEC to dump 10% more fuel.

I'd check for vacuum leaks as Steve recommended, then move on to clocking the MAF. You may also want to reset the idle. There are numerous lengthy threads about this procedure on the Corral.

Where's you timing currently set and did you install a new set of plugs one heat range colder and gapped down ~ .030-.035"? These may not be issues now but will be once you run it down the road.

Yeah, I know. I've just had bad luck with C&L and 42's.
