Running Oil return line on S-trim

how did you guys tap into the oil pan? you use a 3/8ths NPT tap and a center punch, or a drill and then drain the oil pan really well?

Don't drill it....the risk is just too high that you won't be able to get the filings out even by draining the oil. Use a punch and then tap it.....it's the best alternative to removing the pan and welding a bung on it. It's not very hard to punch the pan......be confident and take your time and it will be fine.

    definitely punch and tap.
don't forget to put grease in between the thread sections on your tap so it picks up the even smaller shavings from doing a tap. get a bunch of cheap oil and pour it directly into the hole that you just tapped so that it picks up the shavings under the hole.
