    Roll Bars

My car went 11.30's last year, will probibly be faster this year. I want to compete in an NMRA event in the true street class. They require a roll bar. The car is driven 6 months out of the year, about 3000 miles. It is raced, at the track, maybe twice a year. I am a big guy 6'5" 290 and really dont want the hassel of a roll bar. What do you guys think? Who has one? Pro's-Con's?

    Thanks
    Eric

My brother's cage in his Stang is great. He's 6'4" and I'm around 6'3" and his car is a breeze to get in and out of with the design of his Rollcage.

Hawk05 that cage looks nice but would never pass at the NHRA or IHRA tracks that I visit but looks nice for my daily car, who makes that cage or is it a converted kit?

speedy hit the nail on the head. The door bar must intersect the main hoop somewhere between the shoulder and elbow.

I am sometimes amazed at how many people will try and drive an 11 second car on the street or the track and ***** when they are told they can't run at the track. Eric this is in no way directed at you but is something I have noticed at the track.

I for one like going to a strict NHRA national event track to keep all the riff raff out.

Lets not skimp on saftey here folks. Many peoole die each year in street cars at local race tracks.

The track I go to regularly will throw you out at 11.99 no ifs ands or buts.

I didn't think it would. The cage was a custom job and this car has never seen the 1/4 and never will. It's a street legal road race machine built for tracks like Mosport and such. The car corners like an animal. It regularily beats up on Vettes and the like.

Quality fit, pre-notched kits. They are in NJ, the guys who sell
the "battle box" torque box reinforcements.

Swing-out with a positive locking pin is legal.

I recently welded in a 6 point in my car. It stiffened up the car a ton, but it is a little cumbersome getting in and out.
