Well, I finally got laid off today. I'm a landscaper and we can't really work too far into winter. We bust our butts all year and everyone is always pumped when it's time for layoffs. We collect unemployment for the 2 1/2 months that we're not working but it's even better to get a L-O-N-G vacation. Unemployment doesn't really pay that well (I'll get around $200/wk), but it's nothing a job under the table can't fix ;)
Just thought I'd share my joy with everyone!!!

I work for Ford at the Oakville site buiding Windstars and we're laid off til the first week of 2003 for re-tooling. Now I've got nothing to do except Christmas shopping and shop for parts for the big engine swap. Life's tough I'll tell ya.:D

I'll second that. It's nice to be home, but pogey won't go far when you've got a mortgage. Doesn't leave anything for the car stuff.
i can't take a layoff, it just doesn't fit my "PLAN" of someday having a fast car!!
