adding a novi 1000 to a 313 hp NA engine

My current combination is putting 313 hp to the wheels. If I add a novi 1000 what should I realistically expect to add to the RWHP number??

I have a new block in the shop and eventually want to build a 331 shortblock and then add the components from my existing engine. The block that I intend to use is simply a Summit factory replacement block. I am assuming that with the 331 and a Novi 1000 that I should remain on the safe side of breaking the block where the novi 2000 will push me over the edge.

The car is nothing more then a fun street car as I have never even (yet) had it at the track.

So, does anybody care to guess what adding a Novi 1000 to my current combo would potentially give me for hp to the wheels??
    Thanks for the input.

I would expect probably around 390-400+ rwhp adding a Novi 1000 to that combo running 5-6 lbs of boost.

You should get at least 400, and with a nice tune you should be looking @ 420 or so.

When you go to the 331, you will loose some boost, but the power will be the same as the engine will make up for it.

If I swapped pulleys and went with a power pipe on the 331 do you have an educated guess where that would put me in boost and RWHP??

And maybe the same question if I did the power pipe and pulley swap on my current 302 combo?
    Thanks again.

By pulley do you mean the F150 crank or a custom pulley for your blower?

I am referring to the F150 crank pulley. However, I must admit that I am an EXTREME supercharger novice so maybe I am mistaken. It was my understanding that the F150 would give a couple more pounds of boost.

Yep, the F150 will give you a few more pounds.

My estimation, with power pipe, and F150 pulley:

    306
    Boost: 10lbs
    HP @ wheels gain: 120

    331
    Boost: 7lbs
    HP @ wheels gain: 80

The 331 will make less boost but I would say the engine will make up for it, and it will be just as quick if not faster.

Thanks for the input Ian. According to Pro-M's website a 30 lb injector will support 436 supercharged horsepower and 530 NA. A 36 will support 523 supercharged HP and 640 NA hp. Of course I did not see an indication if this is RWHP or flywheel. Do you have a suggestion for injector size on the aforementioned combinations??

    Thanks again

    I would go with 36's or 42's.

The 42's will be much easier to find.

Thanks again for the information. Now the only thing to do is convince the wife that the tax refund should go towards a novi!:D

You would get less boost because there is a larger amount of volume to fill.
