    AFR 205 vs. TFS R

Ok between these heads which one should I go with. I know both are very nice heads, but the TFS R are alittle cheaper new. Are the AFR really worht the extra money.

Also I'm just looking at what I'm going to get just incase I run accros somthing used. This will be going on a Dart 331 with a turbo. Also do yall think I should get them ported by TEA or buy the heads straight from them? Looking to run high 5's or faster in the 1/8. But I'm wanting to do this without any porting. I just didn't know if it is really worth it or not.

The TFS-R heads are more suited to something over 351ci. The AFR 205s are very nice but IMO a little bit overpriced for what you get compared to some of the other heads out there today.

Have you considered Edelbrock Victor Jr heads? Very boost-friendly chambers, with a very efficient exhaust port design, and very good intake ports as well. IMO these are the best bang for the buck out there for a small stroker with boost.

TEA and most other vendors sell their inhouse-prepped VicJrs for @ $1200. Fox Lake sells stg-1 ported (light pocket porting, valves get a nice backcut & 3-angle seats, cleanup cut on decks, etc) for $1500. IIRC the Fox Lake stg1s flow @ 280/220 or so -- really just about perfect for a 331/347 with boost making 500-700hp. Factory port-matched to a the Victor EFI intake manifold. :-)

I also hear good things about the Dart as-cast heads. Not sure about pricing or if the chambers are as boost-friendly as the Jrs though.

We've run AFR 205s on many 331/347 supercharged set-ups...they really work well. IMO the AFR heads are worth the price for the set-up they have...2.08/1.60 and CNC ports. TEA does great work and their port program on the TFS Hi-Ports and Vic Jrs. is one of the best in the country. You can't go wrong either way. If you didn't want to go with AFR 205s, then I'd have Brian do a set of TFS Hi-Ports and TFS R Box intake w/ R lower intake. But that's just me..lol...AFR 205s going on my 347 NA build.

I run the 205's and my little combo makes a bunch of power. IMO they are the best out of the box head you can buy.

I thought you had the 225. I guess I was wrong. You didn't have yours ported did you?

I'm trying to get these. Its on a guy mustang here local. He is going with a different setup now. What do yall think? Oh and his car has gone 5.5's in the 1/8 with these heads. Price is $1800 but I think I can get them alittle cheaper.
